Obituary for Joseph Capone

Joseph Capone
Joseph A Capone, 81 of South West Philadelphia, PA, died Thursday June 15,2017 in the Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, Darby, PA.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Michael and the late Lena (Di Flavis) Capone. He served during Korean war in the Marine Corps from 1953 to 1955.
He was a retired Carpenter. Joe was a member of the America-Italy Society of Philadelphia.
Predeceased by his wife Geraldine (nee Urban) Capone
Survived by two sons: Joseph (Kimberly) A. Capone, Jr. of Woodlyn, PA and Christopher (Kimberly) Capone of Mickleton,NJ. His siblings Marie Thompson and Michael Capone
Grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, And Gianna Capone; great grandchildren, Vincent, Angelo, And Bria
In recent years Joseph enjoyed painting and woodworking in his home. Although, dialysis took a lot of his energy, he loved going to see the patients and employees at DaVita West, and making sure that his presence was known there, including sneaking coffee and donuts in to his fellow seatmates.
Joseph was a wonderful and loving father and grandfather, his presence will be missed. His family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Fitzgerald and DaVita for all the compassion shown to him over these past 2 years.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8pm and Wednesday from 9-9:45am at Kevin M. Lyons Funeral Service, 202 S. Chester Pk, Glenolden, PA.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am at Kevin M. Lyons Funeral Service,
Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
