• BORN: April 12, 1942
• DIED: December 21, 2017
Glenn McCausland, V.M.D., 75, of Glenmoore, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. When a man is a great husband and father, it outshines ever other major accomplishments in his life, and Glenn had many. Glenn served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Chemical Corp receiving a Commendation Medal. After his time in the military service, Glenn attended Penn State where he was an esteemed member of the Blue Band drum line and brother of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. After graduating from Penn State, he enrolled into Eckels School of Mortuary Science. He went on to work for his father at the McCausland Funeral Home in Glenolden, PA as a funeral director. Glenn then decided to make a career change to become a Veterinarian. He received his V.M.D. from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and established the Lionville Veterinary Clinic where he spent the majority of his career. After retiring, he worked at Colebrook Manor Animal Hospital and Absorption Systems. When Glenn was not practicing, he spent most of his time playing tennis, weeding his lawn, tending to his prized blueberry bushes, eating Hershey’s chocolate, cheering on the Penn State Nittany Lions, and playing the drums in Lancraft Fife and Drum Corps.
Glenn was predeceased by his father, Elmer S. McCausland, and his mother Evelyn Palmer McCausland. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Kristen P. Devoted father of Kyle S., Kelsey L., and her fiancé Joseph T. Weaver. Brother of Drew McCausland, and sister, Gayle Worth. Uncle of his loving nieces; Mindy Rhodes, Julie McCausland MD, Rebecca McCausland, and Kelly Mill. His caring nephews, Laird McCausland, Alex McCausland, Ryan Paulson, Jarrett Paulson, Bryan Mill, and Jamie Worth. Glenn and his family wish to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to all the doctors, nurses, social workers, and staff at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. They provided phenomenal personal care, and he truly admired all.
