Anthony W. Inverso
Anthony W. Inverso, 91 of Swarthmore, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 19, 2018.
Anthony was born in South Philadelphia to Joseph and Clementine (Baglivo) Inverso. He graduated from South Philadelphia High School. He served during World War II where he was appointed to Staff Sargent in charge of Communications. During his time in the Army, he also attended PMC and North Carolina State College. Anthony was originally employed at CH Wheeler as a Test Engineer where he was known for being very thorough. CH Wheeler later became Transamerica Delaval, Inc., where Anthony was promoted to District Manager of all offices on the East Coast from New England to Virginia. He was known for his hard work and leadership. Anthony also worked in Real Estate and Insurance (carried on from his father). During his retirement, he was a Sales Engineer for MIMCO Equipment, LLC. He also served as Vice President of the Inverso-Baglivo Foundation started by his brother, Daniel.
Anthony lived in Swarthmore for the past 62 years, coming from South Philadelphia. He was a devoted husband to his wife Dolores. He enjoyed playing the piano, sports, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He was a teacher and life coach to many people with whom he shared his unselfish love and attention.
Anthony is survived by his wife Dolores J. (Venturo) Inverso, his three daughters Janet Inverso, Valerie Inverso, and Barbara (Peter) Meredith, his grandsons Jacob and Benjamin Meredith, his sister Gloria Melloni and his sister-in-law Rina Augustina Sukartawidjaja. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Joseph Inverso Jr., Daniel A. Inverso, and Angelo “Gene” Inverso.
A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 990 Fairview Rd., Swarthmore, PA 19081. Burial will follow at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00-11:45 am at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 415 Crossways Park Drive, Suite D, Woodbury, NY 11797.
